Here are some videos that explain it a bit more.
I myself am not a big fan of just mixing some protein powder in some water and gulping it down. To me, it makes it a chore! I just worked my booty off in the gym! I deserve to be rewarded for my hard efforts. So instead of chocking down a drink I dont like, I like to make legitimate protein shakes that taste like the milkshakes that I no longer indulge on. (Cause they make you fat. And who wants to be that?) Because of this, I have more motivation to go to the gym (because I know when I'm done I get to enjoy a yummy shake!) and I get to keep my sweet tooth under control!
Below I share some of my most favorite shakes, and as I come across new ones that send my taste buds flying, I'll make sure to share and review.
This is the base to almost all my shakes
- about 1/2 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I eyeball it, but that's about the amount I use..I think lol)
- 1/2 c 2% cottage cheese
- 1 scoop protein powder
From there I customize it by using different flavor protein, adding various ingredients, and change my amount of ice depending on how thick or thin I want my shake to be.
I get a lot of my ideas for protein shakes from a lovely website called Dashing Dish. All her shakes taste amazing and she is constantly putting up new recipes!
